Abstract

Electronic properties of polyacene in a constant magnetic field perpendicular to its hexagonal ring plane have been examined, based on the tight-binding crystal orbital method in the framework of the Hückel approximation. It has been found that the electronic properties periodically change with the magnetic flux quantum passing through the hexagon of polyacene.
