Abstract

Ultrathin films of (TiO2/Eu3+)n and (TiO2/PAA/Eu3+)n composites were prepared by the surface sol-gel process and the subsequent chemisorption/coordination of Eu3+ ions. Amorphous TiO2-gel layers were found to act as sensitizer for efficient emission of Eu3+.
