Evaluation of color tone of images by degree of mesopic color

Abstract

We propose a measure of quality for the color tone of images. This measure concerns the degree of mesopic color in an image. The mesopic degree is evaluated by transforming the color in the image to daylight colors under the condition that the input image includes mesopic colors. This color transformation is the inverse of the transform of image colors to mesopic colors. We use a simple mesopic transform method and calculate this mesopic degree for some images of impressionist paintings.
