Evaluation technique of phenomena in entrained flow coal gasifier by numerical simulation

Abstract

A numerical simulation of entrained flow coal gasifier is carried out by means of empirical modeling for each dominant phenomenon in coal gasifier such as reactivity of coal or adhesive property of ash particles. The results of the simulation show good agreement with experimental results, so this simulation technique will be useful for design support and optimization of operating conditions. As the next steps, application of simulation technique to monitoring technology of gasifier and investigation of the cause of the troubles will be expected.
