Fast electron momentum distributions in lower hybrid and electron cyclotron current drive plasmas

Abstract

We investigate fast electron momentum distributions in lower hybrid (LH) and electron cyclotron (EC) current drive (CD) plasmas in the WT-3 tokamak by a new method for the reconstruction of momentum distribution from bremsstrahlung hard X-ray spectra measured at various viewing angles to the toroidal field. The results show that fast electrons in an LHCD plasma are further accelerated by an additional ECCD beyond the energy cut determined by the LH wave accessibility condition.
