Field trial of optical 3R regenerator over installed cable

Abstract

We have successfully demonstrated a field trial of an optical 3R regenerator over 400-km-long installed cable. A newly developed polarization control system was adopted at the input of a mode-locked laser for alloptical clock recovery.
