First demonstration of burst-mode upstream transmission for digital coherent OFDM-PON

Abstract

We demonstrate the first burst-mode digital coherent transmission necessary for OFDM-PON upstream. The results explicitly show that a burst-mode OFDM transmission can be achieved by using the proposed frame format and a burst-mode coherent receiver.
