Abstract

For applications of YBa2Cu3O7-x (YBCO) thin films, the critical current density (Jc) should be improved by introducing pinning centers into YBCO thin films. We prepared YBCO films on SrTiO3(1 0 0) and MgO(1 0 0) substrates by means of pulsed laser deposition in order to study the flux pinning properties of the films. The field angle dependence of Jc(θ,B) measured at 77 K, where θ is the angle between magnetic field direction and film surface direction, was analyzed by the normalized Jc(θ,B) and the peak component of Jc(θ,B). We discussed the effects of substrate materials and deposition conditions on the flux pinning behaviors of the YBCO films.
