Formation control using differential atmospheric drag considering attitude constraints

Abstract

In formation flying control of spacecraft, orbital motion and attitude motion are often treated independently. On the other hand, it is necessary to realize the orbit control under the constraint of the attitude, when solar power satellite using the formation flying on the earth orbit is examined. Also, when perturbation forces such as atmospheric drag and solar radiation pressure are positively used for orbit control, the influence of attitude constraints is significant. In this paper, we describe the control method using atmospheric resistance with the earth orbit as a model, and consider the formation control under the constraint of attitude.
