Abstract
Three-dimensional brick-pattern streaming forms above a model of two-dimensional ripple marks under the oscillatory water motion are studied. Results show that this type of streaming may possibly be responsible for forming the brick-pattern ripples of R. A. Bagnold. A structure of flow above the brick-pattern ripples is suggested.
