N2 - An experiment is done with respect to the formation of magnetic islands in FRC caused by nonuniformity of an applied magnetic field near the tube wall. It becomes evident experimentally that magnetic islands are formed not around all gaps between sub-coils but around some of them. This result cannot be explained by the existing theories on the formation of magnetic islands.
