N2 - A very simple, green method for the efficient oxidation of thiols to disulfides catalyzed by ascorbic acid was found to be practical, inexpensive, and reusable and has a simple work-up procedure. This oxidation is suitable for a variety of thiols at room temperature and proceeds cleanly in short reaction time and with high yields.
