Abstract

Committee on Quality Management of Japan Society of Clinical Chemistry published a guideline for the external quality assessment (EQA) and proficiency testing (PT) in the field of clinical chemistry. Scope of EQA/PT has spread to the whole of the clinical examination, many guidelines and standards have been proposed. This document is directed to EQA/PT organizers who wish, on a voluntary basis, to demonstrate their competence, for the purpose of accreditation or other recognition, by formal compliance with a set of internationally-Acceptable requirements for the planning and implementation of EQA/PT programs or to improve the quality of the service provided by installing a quality system based on the requirements in this document. This guideline is expected to contribute the promotion of reliability in laboratory data.
