Abstract

In an era of global standardization Committee on Quality Management of Japan Society of Clinical Chemistry here presents systematic guidelines for laboratory practice under total quality management system (QMS) in the specialized field. Wide range of guidelines and standards have been issued or proposed from international and domestic expert groups. They are, more or less, applied to daily laboratory practice. In order to promote further development of total QMS, the committee redefined it and systematically coordinates overall laboratory-oriented guidelines and standards after exhaustive research. The basic guidelines in Japan shall provide matters as listed in the text.
