Abstract
LIESST iron(II) spin-crossover mononuclear complex [Fe(L)(CN)2]·H2O (1) (L is Schiff-base macrocylic ligand derived from the condensation of 2,6-diacetylpyridine with 3,6-dioxaoctane-1,8- diamine) with macro ring and two CN- bridging ligands in complex 1 can coordinate to other metal compounds, it is possible to build one-dimensional molecular-based photo-magnets. We have synthesized [Fe(L)(CN)2][Mn(hfac)2] (2) and investigated it by using magnetic susceptibility, Mossbauer spectra and IR spectra measurements. The complex 2 exhibits spin-crossover behavior (T 1/2 =110 K) on the moieties of the iron sites.
