Abstract
The successful fabrication of eight channel hybrid integrated circuit consisting of refracting-facet photodiodes (RFPD) is presented. The hybrid integrated circuit was fabricated in arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) with low insertion losses. The application of photoreceiver to wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) networking systems for the handling of high bit-rate and wavelength multiplexed optical signals is also discussed.
