Abstract

The change in the magnetic microstructure of a hole-doped manganite La 0.81Sr0.19MnO3 with the application of a magnetic field was discussed. With the help of in situ observation by electron holography it was revealed that the applied magnetic field generated a channel of the magnetic flux in the paramagnetic phase region. It was observed that the magnetic flux density of the channel was estimated ay 0.33 T which was comparable to the ferromagnetic domains. It was also observed that the ferromagnetic domains promoted the conduction in the mixed state as predicted for many manganites exhibiting the magnetoresistance effect.
