Abstract

Experimental analysis has been carried out to explain and predict the Mach reflection phenomena of a plane moving shock wave from a wedge surface. In the first report, the domains of four types of reflection were shown, in an incident shock Mach number-wedge angle plane, and the transition boundaries between these domains were discussed. In the present paper, the triple point trajectory angle and the location of a kink point of a reflected shock in the case of three types of Mach reflection have been investigated experimentally over a wide range of incident shock Mach numbers and wedge angles. Based on the experimental results, the shape of a reflected shock wave has been explained generally and comprehensibly.
