Abstract

A report on the dynamics of the islands with various sizes in the wider range of the background configurations and the parameter growth or suppression of the island in the large-helical-device (LHD) plasma discharges was presented. It was found that the size of an externally imposed island with mode number was decreased for collisionless finite beta LHD plasmas. The size of the island observed to increase for the collisional plasmas with finite beta.
