Isotope-concentration dependence of thermal conductivity of germanium investigated by molecular dynamics

Abstract

The molecular dynamic (MD) simulation was used to investigate the isotope-concentration dependence of thermal conductivity of germanium. The degradation factors of thermal conductivity of germanium was also studied. An empirical potential of Stillinger-Weber potential was used for the calculation of thermal conductivity of germanium with various isotope concentration. It was observed that thermal conductivity of mixed isotope-germanium with large mass difference was smaller than that with small mass difference.
