Isotope effects in rovibrational distributions of OH(A) and OD(A) produced by electron impact on H2O and D2O

The OH(A-X) and OD(A-X) emission spectra have been measured by 17 eV electron impact on H2O and D2O in a supersonic free jet. Rotational temperature and relative vibrational population have been estimated from a computer simulation of the spectra by using two kinds of rotational temperatures. As a result, it is found that in the v′ = 0 level the rotational temperatures of OH(A) are identical with those of OD(A) within error, on the other hand, they are significantly different from each other in the v′= 1 level.
