Laboratory experiment of tracer test in the vertical two-dimensional porous media with newly developed tracer sensors

Abstract

We developed a vertical two-dimensional porous media for modeling a fault system, and conducted tracer experiments using two kinds of dye as a tracer material. In addition, in order to simultaneously measure concentrations of these dyes in the produced fluid of simulated production well, we developed optical tracer concentration sensors using an absorption spectrophotometry method. Results showed that concentrations of dyes were measured with an acceptable accuracy for the mixed solution of the tracers as it reached the production well.
