Abstract

Local governments in local cities and rural areas have various problems because of declining birthrate and unprecedented ageing society. We have focused on universities (human resources, technology, knowledge and man-power) as collaboration partners for solution to local problems. In this study, we analyzed the actual situation of collaboration between local government and universities located in the distance, by the questionnaire survey for nationwide 1285 local governments, where university campuses are not located. In conclusion, we acquired some technical knowledge for good relationship between local governments and universities.
