Abstract

The low temperature specific heats of nearly ferromagnetic NbFe2 and TaFe2 and antiferromagnetic TiFe2 have been studied between 1.4 K and 6.5 K. The results are compared with the recent band calculations. It is shown that the electronic specific heat coefficients, γ, of NbFe2 and TaFe2 are significantly enhanced. The enhancement of γ of NbFe2 is discussed in terms of the spin fluctuation theory.
