Low-temperature specific heat of Laves phase Ce(Fe1-xCo x)2

Abstract

The authors have studied the low-temperature specific heat of the pseudo-binary Ce(Fe1-xCox)2 system, which shows a double transition from a ferromagnetic to antiferromagnetic state for 0.04<x<0.3. The electronic specific heat coefficient gamma is large in the ferromagnetic state, while it is reduced in the antiferromagnetic state. The results are discussed on the basis of the band structure.
