Magnetic property measurement of simple alkylene-aromatic polymers

Abstract

Associated with the organic magnetic materials, the simplest alkylene-aromatic polymers (AAPs) have been prepared in order to examine their magnetic properties. In contrast with the claim of the observation of the ferromagnetism in other members of AAP, ferromagnetic behaviour was not detected in the present sample. Instead, a distribution of the spin alignment giving 1 < S < 3 2 on the average, certainly because of carbon π spins, has been observed through the magnetization measurement.
