Magnetization plateaux in an anisotropic S = 1/2 antiferromagnetic chain with frustration and bond-alternation

Abstract

Using numerical methods, we study the finite-field ground state of an anisotropic S = 12 antiferromagnetic chain with bond-alternating nearest-neighbor and uniform next-nearest-neighbor interactions. Special attention is paid to the magnetization plateaux at a half and one-third of the saturation magnetization, which appear in the ground-state magnetization curve.
