Measurement and correlation of infinite dilution activity coefficients of ethers in alkanols

Abstract

The infinite dilution activity coefficients of ether (diethyl ether (DEE), methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) or diisopropyl ether (DIPE)) in alkanol (1-octanol, 1-decanol or 1-dodecanol) were measured in the region of 10-30°C using the gas stripping method. The experimental results were predicted and correlated by a typical group-contribution model, ASOG.
