Abstract

Mechanical behavior of sealed joints with two types of sealants, polysulfide and silicone, were studied. Joint movements and sealant stresses were measured in Yokohama, Japan. The stresses were calculated based on mathematical models of visco-elastic behavior and compared with field tests.
