Modulated structure of betaine calcium chloride dihydrate at 122 K

Abstract

The modulated structure of the incommensurate phase, stable below 125 K, has been determined using the X-ray intensity data measured at 122 K. The structure was refined in the superspace group P(Pnma):(1,s,-1) (Υ=0.278) showing that the modulation wave has Λ3-symmetry. Final reliability factors were R=0.056 for the whole 2486 reflections and Rs=0.100 for the 1390 first order satellite reflections.
