    Abstract

Photoreduction of AuCl4 - ions in the presence of o-phthalaldehyde (o-PA) in water provides ultrathin gold nanosheets which show surprising morphological changes to saw-edged nanosheets, multipored sheets, and rounded nanotapes depending on the reaction temperature.
