Abstract

Public Utilities Board (PUB), Singapore has announced pipeline project to provide NEwater (highest grade of industrial water) in 2007 through 2008 this time. As for this NEwater, 40% of treated this NEwater is assigned by Shell and rest of it is for other semiconductor/electronic parts makers. Most of pipeline between two treatment plants in has been planted by open cut. Some of lines are partially planed by pipe jacking especially in line crossing area with road including highway, river and rail road. These jacking lines are fragmentary laying and collected in project PJ01 and PJ02. Soil condition on jacking line is extending to wide kind of soil such as marine clay, sand, silt, rock area...etc. The Japanese pipe jacking technology that is the developed nation of the pipe jacking method of construction is introduced to lead this project to the success.
