Abstract
The technique of the Balmer alpha laser fluorescence spectroscopy was utilized to study the atomic hydrogen behaviour in plasmas in Heliotron-E. The results revealed that the hydrogen atoms in the plasmas were produced at the periphery of the plasma, penetrated as Franck-Condon neutrals and the plasma densities were supported by the ionization of these atoms.
