Abstract

A large phenol-and polyether chain-based macrocycle H2Lpy possessing four pyridylmethyl groups as pendant donors was prepared and its ability to encapsulate four divalent metal ions [Ni(II), Mn(II), and Zn(II)] was confirmed by IR and NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography.
