Abstract

A simple noncontact torque sensor is developed using Fe-based amorphous ribbons and a switching process synchronized with a clock pulse. The torque sensor with high sensitivity and good stability is easily obtained because a high frequency exciting condition with small fluctuation is easily realized due to synchronized switching process. The sensing circuit is composed of two switching transistors and several CMOS ICs. The output characteristics and the operating condition are investigated in detail.
