Abstract

A predictive method for enhanced heat transfer in nucleate boiling from tube bundle is given. An adopted heat transfer model is similar to that proposed by Mikic and Rohsenow for pool boiling and it assumes that boiling heat flux is transferred by two convective components, one due to generating bubbles and the other due to flowing bubbles. The latter contribution accounts for the enhancement in heat transfer of tube bundle and it is evaluated from the convective heat transfer induced by the flowing bubbles originated from the lower tubes.
