Abstract

The paper presents an improved method of FEM to calculate aerodynamic forces for two-dimensional oscillation cascades in subsonic flows. The main improvements are a formulation to treat nonrigid vibration of blades and to provide an explicit Kutta condition for steady and unsteady calculations. Numerical calculations have been conducted to investigate the effects of the mean blade loading, chordwise displacements and nonrigid deformations upon unsteady aerodynamic forces and moments.
