Optical VSB modulation based on phase-shift method and its PAPR characteristics for optical BPSK transmission

Abstract

Optical VSB signal by phase-shift method is experimentally demonstrated. Its PAPR was suppressed down to 1.65 and 30% bandwidth saving compared to optical double sideband was achieved by using highpass Hilbert transform.
