N2 - The liquid-liquid equilibria of the aqueous two-phase system containing dextran (Mn= 24, 200) and polyethylene glycol (Mn=3000) were measured at 20°C. The partition coefficients of α-amylase (molecular weight= 50,000) in this aqueous two-phase system were also determined at 20°C. Further, the liquid-liquid equilibria and the partition coefficients were correlated using the Flory-Huggins equation and the osmotic virial equation. It was found that the osmotic virial equation could give a better correlation.
