Abstract

When pyridafenthion, O-(l, 6-dihydro-6-oxo-l-phenyl-3-pyridazinyl) O, O-diethyl phosphorothioate, was irradiated with UV light (A = 254 or >300 nm) for 48 hr on a glass surface, two main reactions occurred, giving pyridafenthion-oxon and phenyl maleic hydrazide, 6-hydroxy-2-phenyl-3(2H)-pyridazinone respectively. Some photosensitizers, including riboflavin, rose bengal and cis-dehydromatricaria ester, accelerated photolysis.
