Abstract

A simple and practical method of propagating Jacaranda mimosifolia by cuttings was investigated. More than 86% of the softwood cuttings from young shoots rooted without IBA treatment, but no rooting occurred in the hardwood cuttings. The roots, 5-10 cm long, emerged from softwood cuttings two months after planting, indicating that this is a simple and practical method for vegetative propagation of J. mimosifolia.
