Abstract

This study investigates damage monitoring for a holed CFRP laminate under fatigue loading by using an embedded FBG sensor. Measured reflection spectrum of the FBG sensor changed with damage extension in the laminate. The mechanism of the change in the spectrum shape was discussed through a numerical simulation for fatigue damage extension.
