Abstract

While Pt/C is widely used as the electrocatalyst for polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEFCs), the use of oxides could improve their durability. In this study, the strong interaction between Pt and TÍO2 enables to develop Pt-TiC>2 nanocomposite electrocatalysts for achieving higher durability. XRD results and elemental analysis in high-resolution STEM confirmed the formation of nanocomposites consisting of Pt and TÍO2 nanoparticles. The nanocomposite electrocatalysts exhibit high catalytic activity, preventing Pt aggregation for improved durability against potential cycling.
