Abstract

Waveguide dye lasers are attractive for use in integrated devices because of the easily on-demand fabrication and disposable use. We fabricated and demonstrated a master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) system based on Rhodamine6G doped polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA). Firstly, a planer waveguide master oscillator was fabricated and optimized to achieve single mode lasing. Secondly, a linear waveguide MOPA system including 20 μm width oscillator (10 mm length) and 30 μm width amplifier (10 mm length) was fabricated and demonstrated. A signal laser was amplified to 20 times.
