Probability of statistical L-H transition in tokamaks

Abstract

A statistical model of the radial electric field Er bifurcation describing the L-H transitions in tokamak plasmas was discussed. The effective phase limit was derived and the L-to-H and H-to-L transition probabilities were calculated. The probability density function and ensemble average of Er were obtained.
