Abstract
Organic and polymeric microdisks were fabricated with ink-jet technique and whispering gallery mode (WGM) cavity was demonstrated. The scheme provides low cost and low energy fabrication in room temperature atmosphere. Single shot fabrication of extremely low viscous hyperbranched polymer successfully mounted 1.8 µm-thick-microdisks on polymer pedestals. The disk diameter was controlled to about 100 µm by concentration control. The pedestals were fabricated by multiple shots and partial envelope etching. WGM laser operation was also confirmed by doping laser dyes.
