Abstract

Deep blue species derived from the binuclear copper(I) complex with 1,4-bis[N,N-bis-(2-benzimidazolylmethyl)amino]butane (L2) and O2 exhibited high reactivity towards 1,3-diphenylisobenzofuran, an efficient singlet O2(1Δg) scavenger. This gave indirect evidence for O2-complex formation in the deep blue solution.
