Abstract
Dendritic cells (DCs) are the most potent antigen-presenting cells and have a unique ability to induce primary immune responses. DC maturation induced by Toll-like receptor (TLR) agonists requires activation of downstream signal transduction and metabolic changes. DCs activated via TLRs have central roles mitochondrial matrix. p32/Clqbp is required for appropriate interleukin (IL)-6 production upon lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulation. However, the exact mechanisms of p32 functions in DCs remain unclear. In this review, we discuss p32-dependent metabolic pathway during DC activation.
