Abstract

Lithium-rich anti-perovskite (LiRAP) structured Li+ conductors are soft and have been reported to be potentially high Li+ conductive material. This article reports a novel synthesis method to fabricate Li2OHBr, a partially hydrated LiRAP, at room temperature just by ball milling of LiOH and LiBr powders. The resultant Li2OHBr was formed as cubic-phase (a = 4.046 Å) with melting point at 254 °C. Lithium-ion conductivity of the Li2OHBr was 1.1 × 10−6 S cm−1 at 25 °C with the activation energy of 0.54 eV. The resultant Li2OHBr repeated stable lithium plating/stripping reactions for 100 cycles at 60 °C with 50 μA cm−2.
