Abstract
Polystyrenes (1) and poly(dimethyl siloxane)s (2) with alkoxyamine units in the main chain were prepared through nitroxide-mediated living radical polymerization of styrene with poly(alkoxyamine) macroinitiator and polyaddition of a poly(dimethyl siloxane)-diol and an alkoxyamine-diol with hexamethylene diisocyanate, respectively. Macromolecular radical crossover reaction of the polymers was carried out by heating an anisole solution of the mixture of 1 and 2 at 100°C. Characterization of the hybridized polymers were carried out with differential scanning calorimetry, dynamic mechanical analysis, and so on. Each polymer was successfully hybridized in given conditions to give multiblock copolymers with phase-separated aggregation structure.
